Annual Farmers Roundtable
November 21 @ 7:00 pm
A Grange Community Program, Wed. November 7, 7 p.m.
Sammamish Valley Grange Hall, 14654 148th Ave. NE, Woodinville, WA
The second annual Farmers Roundtable will be held on Wednesday, November 7th, at 7 p.m., as part of the on-going series of Community Education programs presented by the Sammamish Valley Grange. Last year’s roundtable included a new generation of Sammamish Valley farmers and those who have been farming long-term in the Valley. Due to its popularity, participants requested the Grange present this program on an annual basis. Everyone is welcome to attend this free program and meet those who are committed to bringing local food into our community. Join the discussion with student, incubator and experienced farmers in the Sammamish Valley and connect and network with other farmers and growers in the area. Discussion topics include: blending old and new technologies, current environmental challenges, diverse business models, food policy and security issues. Due to the engaging conversation and popularity of the roundtable, this program may extend past our usual 8 p.m. closing time.
Prior to the evening’s program, join us at 5:30 p.m. for a presentation by Friends of the Sammamish Valley as they share information on the status of the proposed King County Wine and Beverage Ordinance and the efforts to preserve and protect the rural neighborhoods and farmland. As this takes place during the dinner hour feel free to bring your meal along.
In tradition and service to the broader community, the Sammamish Valley Grange, located at 14654 148th Ave. NE, Woodinville, presents monthly programs free to the general public. Mark your calendars for the Holiday Gathering and Potluck, Wednesday, December 5th at 7 p.m. By working to improve the rural nature of the Sammamish Valley, the Grange shares its mission through educational outreach and neighborly engagement.
