Whether you’re nurturing a new fruit tree or maintaining existing trees in your orchard, pruning is a necessary task that brings stronger growth and increased fruit production in the future. Plan to attend the Sammamish Valley Grange “Fall Pruning in Your Backyard Orchard” Program, Wednesday, September 5th, 7– 8 p.m. at the Grange Heritage Garden in Woodinville.
Led by Tom Quigley, a Certified Arborist, you’ll learn best tips and practices including proper pruning cuts, where to cut and how much to cut, along with watering and overall care. You’ll see a live demonstration as Tom and his team show proper techniques on the orchard trees currently growing in the Heritage Garden. Bring your questions as there will be time allotted for Q & A.
We encourage you to walk or bike to the program in the Heritage Garden along the Sammamish Valley Trail, approximately a half-mile south of Wilmot Park. If you’re driving, access the Garden via the farm road (adjacent to Classic Nursery) at 16215 140th Pl NE, Woodinville, WA 98072.
