Heart Repertory Theatre Presents Toil and Trouble by Lauren Gunderson
Toil and Trouble is Lauren Gunderson’s fast‑paced dark comedy directed by Eric Lewis. It is about three underemployed friends who decide that the best way to escape the recession is to take over a small country. Inspired by Macbeth, the play follows Adam, Matt, and Beth as their half‑serious scheme spirals into ambition, delusion, and comic chaos.
Featuring a tight three‑person cast, the play blends sharp wit, contemporary themes, and a wildly funny look at friendship, ego, and the lengths people will go to feel in control of their lives.
Heart Rep is producing Toil and Trouble because it is a bold, resonant, and irresistibly funny story for our time—an intimate ensemble piece that highlights smart comedy, inventive staging, and the power of theatrical imagination.
Do not Miss our next production. Performance dates are September 18, 19, 25, 26 and oct 2, 3 at 7:30 PM and Sunday Matinees at 2 PM on September 20, 27 and October 4. Performed at the Sammamish Valley Grange Hall 14654 148th Ave, Woodinville WA. 98072
