UW Bothell Pub Night Talk at McMenamins: “Ecological Resilience on Mount St. Helens.”

WHO: Cynthia Chang, assistant professor, School of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics, University of Washington Bothell.

WHAT: “Blast from the Past: Ecological Resilience on Mount St. Helens,” a Pub Night Talk cosponsored by the University of Washington Bothell and McMenamins.

WHEN: 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018. Doors open at 6 p.m.

WHERE: Hayne’s Hall, McMenamins Anderson School, 18607 Bothell Way NE, Bothell.

WHY: Since the 1980 eruption of Mount St., Helens plants have recolonized, survived and adapted to the once-barren blast zone. Chang, a plant ecologist, explains how this natural experiment provides valuable lessons in the era of global change.

HOW: Free and open to the public. All ages welcome. Seating: first come, first served. Talk followed by Q&A.
