February 2024 Student of the Month

Amara McCord-Amasis, a Junior at Woodinville High School, was awarded the Woodinville Chamber of Commerce February 2024 Student of the Month on February 15, 2024.

This year at WHS, we are focusing on creating a deeper sense of belonging for all students. Our vision has long been “One Falcon, One Family,” and this year we are amplifying that even more by working to ensure every single student feels a sense of belonging in this falcon family. Amara exemplifies these values in many ways. She served as a leader in our student led MLK assembly and helped design an amazing event that received significant accolades from the staff and study body. She is a committed member of the Black student affinity group. She has also shown so much growth in her leadership and using her voice since her time at WHS. We are extremely proud to have Amara represent WHS as our February student of the month!

In attendance to recognize Amara’s accomplishments: Kimberly Ellertson, Woodinville Chamber Executive Director, Mayor Mike Millman, Woodinville High School Assistant Principal Richard Brown as well as members and city council officials of Woodinville.
