The Woodinville Chamber is pleased to honor our October 2019 Student of the Month, sponsored by Pacific Northwest Law Group. This month’s student is Mari Genis, a Senior at UW Bothell, the award presentation took place at the Sammamish Valley Grange.
Mary is an involved student leader who has taken advantage of every opportunity UW Bothell has to offer. She is a business major who has complemented her academic course of study with co-curricular learning opportunities that will result in being a strong, well rounded graduate from UW Bothell. Mary currently serves on Club Council and the Services and Activities Committee allocating student fees to student ideas and programs. She is also the Chair of the Chancellors Advisory Council on Students convening a cross-disciplinary group of students to provide advice and recommendations to the Chancellor. She is one of two student representatives on the university space planning group and has proven her leadership capacity through excellent communication (both written and verbal), mastery of the business topic at hand, and is a strong advocate for student needs. Mary has an impressive ability to sit, as the only student, in a room full of administrators, and clearly convey her ideas and best interest for her peers.
