On December 2, 2024, the Woodinville Chamber hosted its much-anticipated Hometown Heroes Luncheon at Fire Station 31. Originally delayed due to a power outage, the event celebrated the extraordinary individuals and organizations who selflessly contribute to the Woodinville community. With catering provided by The Pizza Coop & Ale House, the luncheon was a heartwarming tribute to those who embody the spirit of service and compassion. The Woodinville Chamber Executive Director Kimberly Ellertson, Board Chair Rick Chatterton and City Council members Mayor Mike Millman and Councilmember Sarah Arndt were on site to honor our heroes.

Honoring the Heroes:

Chaplain Christy Dunn, Eastside Fire & Rescue
Chaplain Dunn’s unwavering dedication to supporting firefighters and community members during times of crisis earned her a special place among our Hometown Heroes. The Chamber presented her with a plaque, a bouquet of flowers, and a thoughtful gift as a token of gratitude for her service.

Dr. Srinivas Khedam, Assistant Director, Family Engagement and Resource Center, Northshore School District
Dr. Khedam’s leadership in organizing community support for summer meal funding for students in the Northshore School District has made a significant impact. In recognition of his efforts, the Chamber awarded him a Hometown Hero plaque and a check to the Northshore Schools Foundation to further this vital program. Although Dr. Khedam was unable to attend, Carri Campbell was there to accept the award on his behalf, as well as members of the Northshore Schools Foundation Board and Staff.

The Kenzie & Dot Foundation
The Kenzie & Dot Foundation fosters connections between families, police officers, and firefighters while spreading holiday cheer through their funding of the annual Shop with a Cop program. The Chamber presented them with a Hometown Hero plaque and a check to support the continuation of this cherished initiative. Donate to this year’s Shop with a Cop program on their website.

City of Woodinville Police Officers & Eastside Fire & Rescue
This year, the dedicated officers and firefighters aim to provide 60 holiday meal boxes to families in need, going above and beyond to bring hope and joy to the season. In appreciation, the Chamber presented them with a filled meal box to symbolize the community’s gratitude for their extraordinary efforts. Learn more about providing a holiday box here.
