On May 15, 2025, the Woodinville Chamber was proud to host a highly anticipated Development Update, bringing together local leaders, developers, and community members for a forward-looking conversation on growth and opportunity in Woodinville. Held at Columbia Collective, the event offered a dynamic space for networking, idea sharing, and community engagement—enhanced by the venue’s signature hospitality and catering.

This year’s panel featured four speakers:

• Kevin Merriman, Eastrail Flats
  Kevin shared updates on the Eastrail Flats development, a mixed-use project poised to enhance connectivity and accessibility along the Eastrail corridor. His presentation emphasized how the development will support active transportation, foster new residential opportunities, and integrate with regional trail systems to promote a pedestrian-friendly, sustainable community.

• Katherine Hollis, Eastrail Partners
  Representing the nonprofit dedicated to the Eastrail corridor, Katherine spoke passionately about the ongoing work to transform the 42-mile former rail line into a vibrant multi-use trail. She outlined key milestones, regional partnerships, and how the Woodinville segment fits into the broader vision of regional mobility and community wellness.

• Kevin Elswick, Woodin Creek Village
  As the visionary behind one of Woodinville’s largest mixed-use neighborhoods, Kevin highlighted the continued evolution of Woodin Creek Village. His talk included plans for new residential phases, expanded retail offerings, and community-focused design elements that aim to make the area a true “village within the city.”

• John Evans, The SOMM Hotel
  John introduced attendees to the concept and progress of The SOMM Hotel, an upcoming boutique hospitality destination inspired by Woodinville’s world-class wine scene. Designed to be an immersive luxury experience, The SOMM will offer curated wine programming, culinary pairings, and upscale accommodations that elevate Woodinville’s appeal to both tourists and locals.
